Green Jelly & ESG

Giving something back

At Blue Jelly we believe that Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) is more than just a tick box exercise. Going above and beyond what is expected is something that has driven us for decades. On top of achieving a portfolio of industry recognised accreditations we take charitable work seriously too. From committing to regular donations to driving external fundraising activities we are always thinking outside the box for how we can make a difference. We’re passionate about helping our clients achieve their ESG goals in their workplace projects.

Ocean Conservation trust

For the next two years we are partnering with the Ocean Conservation Trust (OCT) to raise vital funds to protect our Oceans. Our ambitious fundraising target for 2023 is £20,000. This will go directly towards the Blue Meadows initiative, which focuses on restoring the vital, oxygen producing seagrass fields around the UK and creating a plan to sustainably rebuild these fields globally.

windsor foodshare

Windsor Foodshare provides short term weekly help in the form of non-perishable foods, bread, eggs, fresh fruit, and vegetables to local households at risk of becoming hungry. Our team supports with donations of non-perishable food. At Christmas time we donate mince pies, Christmas puddings, gravy granules, stuffing mix, selection boxes, crackers and boxes of chocolates for Windsor Foodshare to give out with their Christmas support packages.

Compassion

After fitting-out the Head office for the charity Compassion, we wanted to get involved with their good work. We decided to make a long-term commitment to sponsor a child living in Sri Lanka. Our sponsorship means she has access to food, clean water and an education.

Circus Starr

Each year we support Circus Starr which enables children who are disadvantaged, disabled or vulnerable to have a lovely day out at a circus with a difference. As their philosophy says, ‘every child deserves a little magic’.

Macmillan

As a team we support Macmillan by hosting Macmillan coffee mornings to raise vital funds that go towards supporting people suffering from cancer.

Environmental

Proudly, our contract team has recycled 98% of all site waste for the fifth year running. Meanwhile, our Head Office in Windsor is completely carbon neutral, this year we offset a whooping 50.79 tonnes of carbon. We take steps each year to reduce our carbon footprint and find better ways of working.

Fitwel

Our inhouse Fitwel ambassador, Harriet, advises on health and wellbeing standards at the design and pre-contracts stage of our projects. Fitwel is all about employee health and wellbeing. It is the world’s leading certification system that aims to ensure all buildings are enhanced to strengthen the health and well-being of its occupants. Fitwel provides a scoring system based on a set of criteria that looks at the full scope of the building in relation to health and well-being.

SKA rating

With his deep knowledge of the SKA accreditation system, Ben, our SKA representative, advises our team on how to design and build sustainable, SKA compliant workplaces. SKA is the industry leading benchmark for landlords and tenants to follow sustainability best practice when completing fit outs. Compliant fit outs can be awarded bronze, silver or gold certification depending on which criteria they meet.
